This free program will focus on child development and -
family success. The program will utilize community resources, and will result in every child having the opportunity
to reach his/her fullest potential and be kindergarten ready at age 5. The classroom will be located in a modular unit
on the campus of Dodgertown Elementary School in Gifford. The comprehensive, holistic services will mirror the
( services provided by EOC Head Start: Early Childhood Education, Health, Mental Health and Disability, Nutrition,
Dental, and Family Engagement. The program will operate 5 days a week, 42 weeks per year from 7:45 a.m. to •
2:30 p.m. Our objectives are to implement age-appropriate activities to meet the needs of children and their families
in the areas of health, social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development. EOC will provide materials,
activities, and experiences that support a broad range of children's prior experiences, maturation rate, and
modalities styles of learning, needs, cultures, and interests. Children's progress will be tracked using the Florida
Department of Education Teaching Strategies Gold Monitoring System. At age 4, children will transition to
Dodgertown Elementary School's VPK Program, giving them two years to prepare for kindergarten readiness. Like
EOC's Early Bird- Indian River Academy Program, this program will not be funded with Head Start dollars. It will be
funded with local funds from a variety of partners. The program is replicable, scalable, and will leverage resources.
2017044 Page 3 of 26 05/03/2017 •
