Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final September 19, 2017 <br />Nay: 1 Commissioner Zorc <br />The Chairman called a recess at 10:44 a.m., and reconvened the meeting at 10:54 <br />a.m., with Commissioner Zorc absent. <br />10. PUBLIC ITEMS <br />A.1. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PROOF 01' PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISMENT FOR HEARINGS IS ON <br />FILE IN TI IE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD. <br />17-0900 Deferred Compensation Ordinance Change (Legislative) <br />Recommended Action: Approve the draft ordinance <br />Attachments: Finance Department Staff Report <br />Deferred Compensation Ordinance Draft <br />County Attorney Dylan Reingold recalled the Board Meeting of August 15, <br />2017, at which the Board approved Nationwide Services as the sole provider of <br />administrative services for the Deferred Compensation Plan offered to County <br />and Constitutional Officer employees (excepting the Sheriffs Office). The <br />County's agreement with Nationwide Services would be in effect for five (5) <br />years, with two (2) consecutive two-year renewals, unless the contract is <br />terminated by either party. On August 15, 2017, the Commissioners also <br />approved a Public Hearing revising Section 104.05 Deferred Compensation of <br />the County's Code of Ordinances. Attorney Reingold summarized the <br />proposed revisions to Chapter 104 Human Resources, Section 104.05. noting <br />that among other changes, references to specific deferred compensation <br />providers have bcen eliminated. <br />The Chairman opened the Public ['caring. <br />Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller Jeffrey R. Smith thanked the County <br />Attorney's office for crafting the Ordinance, and confirmed that the amendment <br />was necessary to reflect the changes made in the administration of the deferred <br />compensation plan. <br />There were no additional speakers, and the Chairman closed the Public <br />Hearing. <br />Indian River County Florida Page 19 <br />
