Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final October 17, 2017 <br />Approved <br />15.B.2. 17-1060 Approval of Minutes Meeting of August 15, 2017 <br />Recommended Action: Approve <br />Attachments: 08152017SW D D <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner Zorc, to <br />approve the Meeting Minutes of July 18, 2017 and August 15, 2017, as written. The <br />motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 3 - Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, and Commissioner Zorc <br />Absent: 2 - Commissioner Adams and Commissioner Solari <br />15.B.3. 17-1066 Quarterly/Annual Recycling Update FY2016/17 <br />Recommended Action: No recommended action - item is for informational purposes only. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Recycling Education and Marketing Coordinator Stephanie Fonvielle, in her <br />PowerPoint Presentation, gave the recycling update for the fourth quarter of Fiscal <br />Year 2016-2017. She announced that two full years of single -stream recycling <br />have resulted in higher recycling tonnages. Ms. Fonvielle discussed prior <br />collection events for hazardous household waste and electronics, and announced <br />that there would be a residential paper shredding event at Southeast Secure <br />Shredding Center on November 18, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. She <br />announced that a pilot program for campus -wide recycling is being implemented at <br />four schools, and thanked Waste Management for providing a Think Green grant to <br />assist with program expenses. Ms. Fonvielle mentioned, too, that recycling is now <br />available at the Vero Beach and Sebastian High School football games. <br />Accepted <br />C. Environmental Control Board <br />16.
