"Sonny" Dean, Director <br />Department of General Servia <br />FROM: Fran Boynton Powell, Purchasing Manager <br />SUBJ: Award of Bid #3014, #3015 <br />Reroofing Fellsmere Firestation i Reroofing Fire <br />Station #3 <br />Emergency Services <br />BACKGROUND INFORMATION: <br />On August So 1992, the Purchasing Division advertised in the <br />Press Journal and mailed out bid packages to ten (10) vendors <br />requesting bids for the reroofing of Fire Station #3 at the <br />Airport and the Fire Station in Fellsmere . <br />The bid opening date was set for August 19, 1992 at 2:00 P.M. <br />and no bids were received. Vendors Contacted said their work <br />schedule would not permit them to submit a bid at this time. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Due to the critical needs for these repairs, the Department of <br />Emergency Services personally contacted the vendors and were <br />successful obtaining one bid from Lucas Waterproofing. This <br />vendor has -done similar work for the County in the past. <br />The prices are as follows: <br />Fellsmere Fire station <br />Fire station #3 (Airport) <br />OCT 2 0 1992 <br />BID AMOUNT <br />$ 9,800.00 <br />$15,990.00 <br />Bm 87 fA-H 654 <br />
