A copy is enclosed. <br />Since the TCCLG is in a transition period, with several members <br />retiring and new appointees coming on, would you please see that <br />the Commissioner -designated as your representative to the TCCLG <br />gets this information. <br />It will be necessary for your Commission to decide which of the <br />legislative recommendations you wish the TCCLG to pursue or oppose <br />in its report before the Legislative Delegation. The TCCLG has <br />agreed that it will not support or oppose an issue if one or more of <br />its members.are in -disagreement. <br />Please bring these recommendations before your Commission by the end <br />of November so the results can be tabulated at our December 2nd, <br />meeting. <br />It is imperative that your representative to TCCLG or a designated <br />alternate attend the December 2nd, meeting. Ginn <br />Chairman <br />On Friday, November 6, 1992, the Legislative Committee met for <br />the second time to review the past year's legislative priorities <br />and establish recommendations for the coming Legislative Session. <br />The Committee adopted the following list of issues, in approxi- <br />mate order of priority, and recommends transmittal to and adop- <br />tion by our member governments prior to the Treasure Coast Coun- <br />cil of Local Governments December 2nd meeting. We will only <br />pursue those issues upon which there is unanimous agreement by <br />our membership, and _urge Prompt consideration thereof in order <br />that we maximize our results in Legislative Delegation meetings <br />scheduled for December 4th and 5th. <br />1. <br />-- -- ---...�..a.�a►.�.vii vz nomesreaa Exemption - Apply to . <br />second $25,000 of assessed value, or similar method to make <br />this important exemption better related to service demands <br />and responsibility of homestead statewide. - <br />2. Partial Year Assessment - An amendment to the Florida <br />Constitution to permit partial -year assessment of all real <br />Property when it is improved, or when the property is <br />occupied or otherwise used for the purpose for which it was <br />constructed. <br />56 <br />
