Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Final Payment - 37th Street(Barber Avenue) <br />Design of Widening and Drainage Improvement <br />DATE: December 2, 1992 --- FILE: lenz.dec <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On July 7, 1992, H.F. Lenz contracted with Indian River County to <br />provide professional engineering and related services for the <br />design of widening and drainage improvements to 37th Street <br />between US 1 and Indian River Boulevard at a cost of $5,000. <br />After negotiations for stormwater permits with the SJRWMD, the <br />design had to be modified to include shallow water quality swales <br />to be constructed behind curb and gutter for treatment purposes <br />within the roadside recovery zone. This was additional work at a <br />cost of $500. <br />ANALYSIS AND ALTERNATIVES <br />Design has been completed and final payment is due. The <br />following alternatives are presented: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the final payment of $508.44, and additional <br />services in the amount of $500 as described above. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny payment. <br />RECO101ENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approving Alternative No. 1 in the amount of <br />$508.44 under the original contract and $500 for additional <br />services for a total of $1408.44. Funds are available in <br />account #111-214-541-033.1%. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />the final payment of $508.44 and additional services <br />in the amount of $500 for a total of $1,008.44, as <br />set out in staff's memorandum. <br />32 <br />
