RELEASE OF RETAINAGE <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated January 18, 1993: <br />TO: James Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />THROUGH: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />FROM: Roger D. Cain, P. <br />County Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Miscellaneous Intersection Improvements, Phase III <br />Kimball -Lloyd, Inc. Release of Retainage <br />DATE: January 18, 1993 <br />Kimball -Lloyd, Inc. has a Professional Services Agreement for the design of several intersections <br />for Indian River County. Over the last two years these intersections have been completed, except <br />for one intersection, 43rd Avenue and 41 st Street, which is still under design and has right-of-way <br />acquisition involved The following intersections were included in the Miscellaneous Intersection <br />Improvements Phase III Contract: <br />1. <br />43rd Avenue and 45th Street <br />2. <br />43rd Avenue and 26th Street <br />3. <br />43rd Avenue and 12th Street <br />4. <br />43rd Avenue and 8th Street <br />5. <br />20th Avenue and 8th Street <br />6. <br />43rd Avenue and 41 st Street <br />At the present time, work is complete on all but 43rd Avenue and 41 st Street, which is <br />approximately 80% to 90016 complete. <br />Since Kimball -Lloyd, Inc. has completed all of the other intersections in this contract, they have <br />requested that the retainage on those intersections be released according to the attached sheet <br />showing the value of the contract broken down among the intersections. To date the county has paid <br />$66,765.15 on the contract, which has an adjusted contract total including Amendments 1 through <br />3 of $82,258.50. The consultant is claiming that the value of the work done so far on this contract <br />is $76,886.55 and the county concurs with that claim. lye county would also agree that since the <br />other intersections have been completed and have been constructed, or substantially constructed, that <br />the engineer is entitled to receive the retainage on the amount of the completed intersections. <br />36 <br />
