Chairman Bird asked if there are any plans to shorten the <br />duration of the signals at 26th Street and U.S. 1, and Director <br />Davis explained that the County was not involved in setting it up <br />because it is a City signal. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously approved <br />the release of the retainage to Kimball -Lloyd, Inc. <br />in the amount of $5,391.39 on • the completed <br />intersections, and retain 10% of the amount on the <br />uncompleted 43rd Avenue and 41st Street value of the <br />contract, as recommended by staff. <br />REGIONAL LANDFILL LIFT STATION CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated January 14, 1993: <br />DATE: JANUARY 14, 1993 <br />TO: JAMES E. US -90 -15 -CS <br />BACKGROUND <br />On September 15, 1992, the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners approved a contract with GBS Excavating, Inc., for the <br />construction of the above -referenced project (see attached agenda <br />item and minutes). Due to changes in the project requirements <br />initiated by the landfill staff, several modifications to the design <br />have been made (see attached change order balance exhibit). <br />ANALYSIS <br />The original contract amount was $81,230.00; the proposed change <br />order is for a reduction of $7,500.00. Approval of this change <br />order will lower the contract amount to $73,730.00. Please also <br />note there is no contract time change associated with this change <br />order (see attached change order). <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve Change Order No. 1 with GBS <br />Excavating, Inc., for a contract reduction of $7,500.00. <br />37 <br />6 1993BOOK 88 PAGE 663 <br />
