Keller, CLA, County Attorney's Office <br />DATE: January 27, 1993 <br />RE: CANCELLATION OF OUTSTANDING TAXES <br />PROPERTY PURCHASED FOR COUNTY USE <br />The County has recently acquired two parcels for right-of-way <br />purposes on County Road #512, and pursuant to Section 196.28, Florida <br />Statutes, the Board of County Commissioners is allowed to cancel and <br />discharge any taxes owed on the portion of the property acquired for <br />public purposes. Such cancellation must be done by resolution of the <br />Board with a certified copy being forwarded to the Tax Collector. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: Board authorize the Chairman to sign the <br />attached resolutions cancelling taxes upon lands the County recently <br />acquired. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 93-28 and Resolution 93-29 cancelling <br />certain delinquent taxes upon publicly -owned lands, <br />as recommended by staff. <br />12 <br />
