Commissioner Macht asked the reason for the deduction in the <br />contract amount, and Utilities Director Terry Pinto explained that <br />usually the quantity of pipe is less than the estimated quantity. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />Change Order #1 and Final Pay Request by TLC <br />Diversified, Inc. in the amount of $37,172.74, as <br />set out in the above staff recommendation. <br />CHANGE ORDER 11 AND FINAL PAYMENT IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR UTILITIES DEPARTMENT SURVEY NEEDS <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 2/26/93: <br />DATE: FEBRUARY 26, 1993 <br />TO: JAMES E. PINT <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILtTW SERVICES <br />PREPARED WILL�ROJECCTS <br />AIN <br />AND STAFFED CAPI ENGINEER <br />BY: DEPARUTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR UTILITIES DEPAR9ENT SURVEY <br />NEEDS <br />BACKGROUND _. <br />A Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued by the Utilities Department <br />in November 1992 to select firms for continuing services (survey <br />work for the Utilities design projects). Selection is now complete, <br />and we are Coming to the Board of County Commissioners for <br />authorization to prepare and execute contracts with the short-listed <br />firms. <br />ANALYSIS <br />A total of nine firms submitted qualifications on the RFP (see <br />attached memo dated November 30, 1992). Of the nine firms, six were <br />selected to make presentations (see attached memo dated January 15, <br />1993). Presentations were made on February 4, and four firms were <br />selected to receive contracts. For survey projects under $10,000, <br />quotes will be obtained from all four firms; however, the firms were <br />also ranked (1-4) for projects over the $10,000 cutoff. The firm <br />names and their ranking are as follows: <br />1) Masteller, Moler and Reed <br />2) H. F.
