MAR J 6 1993 <br />BOOR 89 FACE Is <br />SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT - REOUEST FOR WITHDRAWAL OF FUNDS FROM THE LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND <br />The Board reviewed the following letter dated March 4, 1993: <br />March 4, 1993 <br />GARY C. WHEELER <br />VERO BEACH, FLORIDA 32961-0808 <br />Honorable Richard N. Bird, Chairman <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Indian River County <br />1840 25th Street <br />Vero Beach, Florida 32960 <br />Dear Commissioner Bird: <br />By way of this letter, I am requesting the withdrawal of $205,302.00 from the <br />Law Enforcement Trust Fund. <br />I have attached documents to justify this request. Please place this on the <br />next regular agenda to be voted on by the commission. <br />Should any member of the commission have any questions regarding this <br />request, please do not hesitate to contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />7 Z1. e- 4j� <br />Gary. Wheeler, Sheriff <br />Indian River County <br />GCW:rw <br />Commissioner Adams asked if a Sheriff's Department substation <br />will be established at Victory Park. <br />Commissioner Eggert explained that the Sheriff's Department <br />will be working one-on-one with the people in the community, and <br />that this is part of the Community Oriented Police Enforcement <br />(C.O.P.E.) program. <br />Commissioner Macht stressed that this will be a partnership of <br />the community and the Sheriff's Department rather than just a <br />substation. <br />14 <br />
