US -93 -05 -DC <br />BACKGROUND <br />On December 22, 1992, the Board of County Commissioners accepted and <br />approved the study to determine the most cost-effective system <br />utilizing the West Regional site for an effluent disposal system <br />(see attachment). The study was concluded and selected as the <br />recommended method of effluent disposal for the West Regional area <br />was an artificial wetland with effluent -overflow to the County canal <br />system. Also, the Board of County Commissioners gave permission for <br />the Department of Utility Services to negotiate with Masteller and <br />Moler, Inc., for design, permitting, professional engineering <br />services during bidding, and project administration during <br />construction. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The negotiations with Masteller and Moler, Inc., for professional <br />services mentioned above and as described in the Scope of Work of <br />Work Authorization No. 2 have been concluded. They are as follows: <br />Task 1 Data collection <br />Task 2 Engineering report preparation and public relations <br />Task 3 Contract plans and specifications <br />Task 4 FDER construction permit application <br />Task 5 MSSW permit application <br />Task 6 Construction phase services <br />Task 7 Preliminary operation and maintenance manual <br />The consultant's fees for the work described above are grouped as <br />follows: <br />Basic Services, which covers Tasks 1, 2, and 3 $74,387.00 <br />Permitting, which covers Tasks 4 and 5 64,933.00 <br />Construction phase services, Task 6 23 000.00 <br />Additional Services ' <br />Soil engineering 5,150.00 <br />Operations and maintenance manual, Task 7 10.000.00 <br />(Anticipated total of) $177,470.00 <br />76 <br />
