DOCUMENT TO BE ADDED TO THE PERMANENT RECORD <br />Proclamation Honoring Alma Lee Loy <br />PROCLAMATIONKOK 89 FAG. 10 <br />HONORING <br />ALMA LEE LOY <br />WHEREAS, ALMA LEE LOY was elected to the Indian River <br />County Board of County Commissioners in November, 1968 and <br />served with distinction until November, 1980; and <br />WHEREAS, ALMA LEE's dedication to public service and <br />integrity in dealing with the myriad problems that confront the <br />Board of County Commissioners and her understanding of the <br />problems of the citizens of the county was unsurpassed. Her <br />efforts on behalf of the Commission and the citizens of this <br />county made our beautiful county a better place in which to live <br />and benefited both the local residents and visitors;, and <br />WHEREAS, ALMA LEE's rapport with the other Commissioners <br />-- and the citizens of the county resulted in the accomplishment of <br />many and varied• projects and endeavors which have had a <br />tremendous influence on the orderly growth and development of <br />Indian River County. She was instrumental in bringing many <br />major projects to successful completion, i.e., construction of <br />the 17th Street bridge, the Sanitary Landfill, obtainment of the <br />Tracking Station. property, development of Kiwanis-Hobart Park, <br />and construction of the Gifford Sewer and Water system; and <br />WHEREAS, ALMA LEE served with distinction as a member of <br />the City of Vero Beach Recreation Committee, Bi -centennial <br />Committee, Budget -and Finance Committee, Long Range Planning <br />Commission, as Youth Guidance Project Director, as Chairman of <br />the Bicycle Path Committee and on the Board of Trustees for the <br />Indian River County Law Library. ALMA LEE also served as <br />Chairman and as Vice Chairman of the Property Appraisal <br />Adjustment Board. Her many accomplishments are a tribute to her <br />dedication to public service: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Board <br />expresses deep appreciation to ALMA LEE LOY for her service to <br />the citizens of Indian River County, and wishes her continued <br />success in her future endeavors. <br />Adopted this 23rd day of March, 1993. <br />82 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Ric and N.
