Cox, P.0 <br />Civil Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Request for Floodplain Cut and Fill Balance Waiver for Lot 14, Block 21, Vero Lake <br />Estates, Unit 4 <br />REFERENCE: Project No. 93040048 <br />DATE: April 30, 1993 CONSENT AGENDA <br />Fashion Homes, Inc. has submitted a building permit application for a single family residence on <br />the subject property. The site is located in an AE special flood hazard zone, base flood elevation <br />22.7 ft. at 8020 93rd Avenue. In the attached letter from the applicant's engineer dated April 27, <br />1993, a waiver of the cut and fill balance requirement is requested The engineer's letter also <br />certifies that all other requirements of L.D.R. Chapter 930 will be met and a material adverse impact <br />on flood protection will not be created. The lot area is 1.07 acres. The volume of displacement of <br />the 100 year floodplain proposed by the grading plan is estimated to be 288 cubic yards. <br />The waiver request has been reviewed by staff and appears to meet the criteria of Section <br />930.07(2)(d)4. of the Stormwater Management and Flood Protection Ordinance for lots located in <br />the Vero Lake Estates Municipal Services Taxing Unit. <br />Alternative No. 1 - Grant the cut and fill balance waiver based on the criteria of Section <br />930.07(2xd)4. <br />Alternative No. 2 - Deny the cut and fill waiver. Require an on site retention area be provided to <br />compensate for the proposed floodplain displacement. <br />Staff recommends approval of Alternative No. 1. <br />14 <br />
