PRESENTATION TO COUNTY COMMISSION <br />Re: RICHARD FEY, d/b/a L.I. TREE SERVICE, INC., Owner <br />The applicant is L.I. Tree Service, Inc., a family business owned <br />by Mr. Richard Fey, a Sebastian resident. <br />Mr. Fey has virtually spent his entire working life in the <br />trimming, hedging and land clearing business. He started his own <br />business (L.I. Tree Service, Inc.) in North County over five years <br />ago with a pickup truck, a chain saw, some rope and a climbing <br />belt. After approximately three months in business, he hired a <br />laborer and purchased his first chipper truck. <br />His business has grown consistently, because of his diligence and <br />the quality of his work. In the five years he has been in <br />business, he has built up a customer list of over 1,100. Depending <br />on the time of the year, he employs as many as 15 well trained <br />people to service his many repeat and first time customers. <br />L.I. Tree Service, Inc. is fully equipped to handle any type of <br />hazardous tree work, as well as providing complete tree care and <br />maintenance and tree transplanting and sales from its tree farm. <br />The Business <br />A partial list of equipment of the company is enclosed for <br />reference purposes. A new front end loader costing in excess of <br />$140,000.00 will be purchased for utilization at the site, together <br />with the incinerator at a cost of approximately $90,000.00. <br />Some of the local customers of L.I. Tree Service, Inc. are: <br />Florida Department of Transportation; <br />City of Vero Beach; <br />City of Sebastian; <br />Windsor Polo Club; <br />COSI-Johns Island; <br />Sebastian Inlet State Recreation Area; <br />Elliott Management Systems; <br />Vista Properties. <br />Mr. Fey is•willing to give any information reasonably necessary to <br />County staff to consider this land use. Anyone in private business <br />will understand the necessity of business to maintain the confiden- <br />tially of its business operation and finances. <br />Mulching, chipping, processing of logs and incinerator are logical <br />extensions of the existing business.
