Adminiitrator Chandler explainedthat thisi unit is to ensure <br />that we are in compliance with the requirements of the Federal <br />Drug -Free Workplace Act. Information will be distributed to <br />employees stating that it is County policy that alcohol and drug <br />use will not be tolerated. <br />Commissioner Eggert felt that the policy should be more <br />specific, because many County employees rely on the manual. <br />Personnel Director Jack Price explained that the purpose of <br />this policy is to establish a- drug-free awareness program to <br />communicate to employees that help is available. Specific <br />information will be posted on bulletin boards. <br />Commissioner Macht suggested changing the word "abuse" to <br />"use" in the policy section, because employees should not drink or <br />take illicit drugs at all while they are at work. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Drugs, Narcotics and Alcohol unit of the Policy <br />Manual, and directed staff to expand the reference <br />to penalties involved and to change the word "abuse,, <br />to "use" under "Policy.,, <br />FOURTH OF JULY FESTIVAL AND PARADE/SEBASTIAN RIVER ARRA <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated May 26, 1993: <br />TO: James Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />TERCUM: James W.
