Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Professional Coastal Engineering Services <br />Agreement - Vero Beach Restoration Project - <br />Coastal Technology Corporation <br />DATE: June 7, 1993 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />FILE: bchmap.agn <br />As authorized by the Board on June 1, 1993, staff has negotiated <br />and prepared the attached Professional Services Agreement for <br />nearshore mapping, biological assessment, and beach erosion control <br />alternative analysis. The Scope -of -Work is divided into two <br />sections: Task' I being hardbottom mapping and biological <br />assessment, and Task 11 being design alternative analysis. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The attached contract provides a comprehensive scope -of -work which <br />involves close liaison with the Indian River County Beach <br />Preservation and Restoration Committee to define beach restoration <br />alternatives, analysis of selected alternatives, and impact of <br />alternatives on the nearshore hardbottom environment. Once <br />complete, the Committee will be able to recommend to the Board a <br />viablebeach restoration program for the Vero Beach shoreline. The <br />compensation for the work is $60,000. <br />RECONNENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of the Professional Services Agreement. <br />and authorization for the Chairman to execute it on behalf of the <br />County. Funding will be reimbursed by FY 93/94 Tourist Development <br />Tax revenue. <br />W, <br />
