ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Tippin being absent) directed staff to <br />schedule public hearings for 5:01 o'clock p.m. on <br />August 23 and September 7 to consider -the current <br />LDR amendments. <br />FLORIDA COMKUNITIES TRUST (FCT) CONCEPTUAL APPROVAL AGREEMENT FOR <br />THE 11WABASS0 SCRUB" SITE <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 6/29/93: <br />TO: James E. DeBlois,-)%ICP <br />Chief, Environmental Planning <br />DATE: June 29, 1993 <br />RE: Florida Com ' munities Trust (FCT) Conceptual Approval <br />Agreement for the "Wabasso Scrub" Site <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at its regular <br />meeting of July 6, 1993. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />In January, 1993, county staff, as authorized by the Board of <br />County Commissioners and endorsed by the County Land Acquisition <br />Advisory Committee (LAAC), submitted an application to the Florida <br />Communities Trust (FCT) program for 50% funding of a property <br />referred to as the "Wabasso Scrub" site. <br />The Wabasso Scrub site is approximately ±110 acres in size, located <br />northwest of the C. R. 510/ Kings Highway intersection. The <br />property consists primarily *of xeric scrub habitat, and has been <br />documented as supporting at least five listed rare species. The <br />property is owned by Ms. Jane Chapin, represented by Bob Burnett of <br />Lost Tree Village Corporation. <br />Funding Approved <br />On May 10,, 1993,. the Governing Body of the Florida Communities <br />Trust (FCT) program held a public hearing in Tallahassee regarding <br />second -year -cycle FCT grant applications. The purpose of the <br />hearing was to finalize the scoring and ranking of each of 42 <br />submitted projects. As a result of the scoring, the Wabasso Scrub <br />site tied for 14th out of the total 42 projects, ranking solidly <br />within the State's funding range. <br />41 <br />BOOK DU <br />6 1993 <br />
