Chandler, County Administrator <br />THRU: Jack Price, Personnel Director <br />FROM: <br />Beth Jordan, Risk Manager <br />DATE: <br />9 July 1993 <br />SUBJECT: Agreement with City of .Sebastian; Defensive Driving Course <br />Please consider the following item for inclusion on the Board of County Commissioner's <br />agenda for July 20, 1993. <br />Background <br />During May, 1993, staff was asked by Wendy Widmann, Personnel Director, City of <br />Sebastian, if the County could consider inclusion of City employees in the County's <br />ongoing defensive driving course. The County holds monthly classes and the inclusion <br />of City employees on a space -available basis would not have an adverse affect. <br />Analysis <br />Staff considered the feasibility, costs and liability issues involved in providing this program <br />and asked that Ms. Widmann prepare an agreement for Board consideration. That draft <br />agreement was reviewed by County staff and we believe that the inclusion of City <br />employees in this ongoing program would have mutual benefits. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends the Board approve this agreement with the City of Sebastian and <br />authorize the Chairman's signature. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />the agreement with the City of Sebastian for <br />Defensive Driving Enrollment of individuals employed <br />by the City of Sebastian, as recommended by staff. <br />PARTIALLY EXECUTED COPY OF AGREEMENT <br />IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />CONSULTANT FEE - DESIGN OF LEFT -TURN BAYS AND RELATED DRAINAGE <br />DESIGN, INTERSECTION OF SR -60 AND 82ND AVENUE <br />The Board reviewed memo from County Traffic Engineer Robert <br />Zaitooni dated July 13, 1993: <br />22 <br />
