Sana <br />Risk Mgt. <br />Other <br />We are soliciting your support to change Florida Statute <br />212.055(2)(i) to allow counties of 50,000 to 100,000 population <br />to use infrastructure sales tax revenue for other government <br />purposes by ordinance. <br />The law was amended in 1992 to allow counties of 50,000 or <br />less to do so. <br />The counties affected by the change would be Monroe, <br />population 79,536; Citrus, 95,915; Highlands, 70,609; Indian <br />River, 92,429; Putnam, 66,002 and St. Johns, 86,118. <br />Enclosed is (1) our proposed resolution (2) copy of law and <br />(3) copy of law summary by Florida Association of Counties. <br />We are contacting our Legislators and the Florida <br />Association of Counties to urge their support of this change and <br />request you do the same. <br />Thank you, <br />C� <br />SHIRLEY FREEMAN <br />County Commissioner <br />
