At <br />present, Section 6 states that a public hearing is required for <br />anyone requesting any degree of expansion of their building area. <br />Staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission are proposing to allow <br />expansion of up to 10% or 10,000 square feet, whichever is less, to <br />be reviewed under special criteria without going through the public <br />hearing process. That is a considerable difference from the way <br />the situation -works now, and that would apply across the board to <br />special exception uses, but it would not apply to Planned <br />Developmen�s.which have their own requirements. <br />Commissioner Eggert understood that the use of colleges or <br />universities would not come under administrative permit, and <br />Director Boling confirmed that it isn't included under AG. Under <br />Section 5d of the ordinance, colleges and universities would go to <br />special exception through administrative permit in OCR, MED, CL and <br />CG. <br />Section 8-16 <br />Staff recommended adoption. <br />Chairman Bird asked if anyone else wished to- be heard in <br />regard to the proposed 16 amendments. There being none, he closed <br />the Public Hearing. <br />SUMMARY OF ACTION <br />Chairman Bird summarized tonight's action. <br />SECTION 1: Residential Resorts <br />After extensive discussion regarding the five proposed changes <br />pertaining to residential resort uses and projects, the Board <br />unanimously directed staff to bring forward changes #1, #2, #3, and <br />#4 to the second public hearing of the LDRs to be held September 7, <br />1993 at 5:01 o'clock p.m. They further directed staff not to <br />pursue the fifth proposed change pertaining to a minimum 3 -day <br />stay. <br />SECTION 2: Limited automotive repair services <br />The Board directed staff to bring Section 2 forward to the <br />second LDR public hearing. <br />SECTION 3: Farm worker and migrant housing <br />The Board directed staff to bring Section 3 forward to the <br />second LDR public hearing, with the request that representatives of <br />26 <br />
