AS <br />BY: ASSISTANT DIRE OR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT:_— ENGINEERING SELECTION FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION <br />INSPECTION OF VARIOUS WATER MAINS AND SUBDIVISION <br />DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS AND/OR WASTEWATER COLLECTION <br />OR TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, INCLUDING ASSESSMENTS RELATED TO THE <br />PROJECTS <br />RFP NO. 3100 <br />BACKGROUND <br />On May 5, 1993, the County received 15 submittals in response to <br />the above related RFP to supply engineering services for the <br />Design and Construction Inspection of Various Water Mains and <br />Subdivision Distribution Systems and/or Wastewater Collection or <br />Transmission Systems Throughout Indian River County, Including <br />Assessments Related to the Projects. <br />The selection committee reviewed the 15 responses and selected 6 <br />firms to be interviewed. <br />ANALYSIS <br />On June 24, 1993, the selection committee interviewed the 6 <br />firms. As a result of the interviews, the firms interviewed were <br />selected to provide the above -related services as follows: <br />The following four (4) firms were selected to provide design and <br />construction inspection of various water mains and subdivision <br />distribution systems, including assessments related to the <br />projects: <br />Carter and Associates Masteller & Moler, Inc. <br />H. F. Lenz L. Robert Kimball & Associates <br />The following three (3) firms were selected to provide design and <br />construction inspection.,inspection of various wastewater <br />collection or transmission systems, including assessments related <br />to the projects: <br />L. Robert Kimball & Associates Carter & Associates <br />Masteller & Moler, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners <br />authorize the Department of Utility Services to enter into <br />continuing services contracts with the recommended firms to <br />provide the related services for which they were selected. <br />Services for each project will be presented to the Board of <br />County Commissioners on an individual basis for approval. <br />32 <br />
