PLEASE VOTE "NO" TO REQUIRE A RESORT HAVE ANY CONNECTION WITH <br />COMMERCIALLY ZONED LAND. It is in the county's and the tax payer's <br />best interest. Government needs to start being run more like a <br />business and not being controlled by minority groups at the expense of <br />the general public. White <br />Executive Aide to Board <br />LDR letters <br />September 3, 1993 <br />As of this date, this office has received many letters regarding <br />the proposed land development regulation amendments. Some of the <br />letters made reference to specific projects where the Board will <br />sit as a judge, therefore, you have not been able to see them <br />until those projects come before you in public hearings. <br />The total number of letters FOR the LDR amendments: 4"10!1 <br />The total number of letters AGAINST one or more of <br />the LDR amendments: 13 <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing and asked if anyone <br />wished to be heard on the proposed residential resort LDR <br />amendments. <br />Joe Scarmuzzi, 1500 Tern Court, representing 618 residents of <br />Sea Oaks, announced that over 80 percent of the homeowners have <br />signed petitions emphatically stating that they would like the <br />Board to prohibit the conversion of existing residential projects <br />to residential resorts for the following reasons: <br />1) They relied upon the residential character of Sea Oaks <br />when they purchased their homes. <br />2) They feel it would not be in their best interests to have <br />large numbers of short-term renters who would not have the same <br />objectives for the use or care of the community. <br />7 <br />SEP 71993 <br />BOOK 9 0 PAGE 421 <br />
