Admin. <br />To comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Board approved a <br />sign language interpreter services agreement with the Deaf Service Center of the <br />Treasure Coast, Inc. This agreement, effective from October 1, 1992 to <br />September 30, 1993, provides sign language interpreting services for the Board's <br />public meetings upon request. The Board contributed $5,000 to the Deaf Service <br />Center for having this service available. To date, no interpreting service <br />request has been made by the Board. The Deaf Service Center, at a recent <br />budget workshop, indicated that it could have difficulty fulfilling the terms of <br />the current agreement if requested. The Board decided not to fund this <br />organization for FY 1993-94. <br />To continue to comply with the ADA, county staff has located a sign language <br />interpreter who has agreed to provide interpreting services to the Board when <br />requested for public meetings. Attached is an agreement. County staff <br />recommends that the Board approve this agreement and authorize the Board <br />Chairman to sign the agreement. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously approved <br />agreement with Diana Bryant for sign language <br />interpreter services for the period October 1, 1993 <br />through September 30, 1994, for a total cost not to <br />exceed $5,000, as recommended by staff. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />REQUEST BY TOWN OF INDIAN RIVER SHORES FOR BEACH ACCESS EASEMENT TO <br />CONSTRUCT A DUNE CROSSOVER <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated September 14, <br />1993: <br />25 <br />UP 211993 BOOK 90 <br />
