rOCT 12 1993 <br />BOOK 90 Nt GE 769 7 <br />Discussion ensued regarding the categories of representation <br />and the Board agreed the committee should consist of one member <br />from each of the following areas: cattle, citrus, vegetable, <br />irrigation, horticulture and two associated industries. <br />Commissioner Adams will serve as chairman to help the committee get <br />started or until the committee becomes autonomous and can select a <br />chairman. A staff secretary will take minutes. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 93-180, establishing an Agriculture <br />Advisory Committee. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-180 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING AN AGRICULTURE <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE. <br />WHEREAS, agricultural operations are a major part of the <br />economy of Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, an important step in fostering agricultural growth in <br />Indian River County is the creation of an advisory committee to assist <br />the Board of County Commissioners concerning agricultural matters in <br />Indian River County, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />that: <br />1. ESTABLISHMENT. <br />The Indian River County Agriculture Advisory Committee is <br />hereby established. <br />2. MEMBERSHIP. <br />The Committee shall have seven voting members appointed by the <br />Board of County Commissioners. With one member from each of the <br />following areas: cattle, citrus, vegetable, irrigation, horticulture and <br />two associated industries. <br />3. TERM OF OFFICE. <br />The term of office shall be two years with three of the initial <br />appointments being one year. <br />52 <br />
