Sale of Surplus Real Property <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated November 1, 1993: <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 1, 1993 <br />TO: HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />THRU: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SER ES <br />SUBJECT: SALE OF SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In September of this year, the Board approved staff's recommendation <br />to advertise and take bids on the sale of a 70' x 125' lot on High <br />Street in Sebastian Grove Estates. <br />On October 27, 1993, two bids were received after proper <br />advertisement. The bids were as follows: <br />Frank J. DeJoia $ 91300.00 <br />Carmine C. Libertino $12,200.00 <br />ANALYSIS: <br />This property is currently assessed by the Property Appraiser at <br />$18,590.00 with the same exemption and zoned CH. It was acquired in <br />1972 through a tax foreclosure with a value at that time of <br />$1,370.00. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Since the County has no need for the property and it has not been on <br />the tax roll for over twenty years, staff recommends Board approval <br />to award the sale of the subject property to Carmine C. Libertino at <br />a price of $12,200.00. It is also requested the Chairman be <br />authorized to execute the appropriate documents to effect this sale. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the sale of a 701 x 125' lot on High Street in <br />Sebastian Grove Estates to.Carmine C.
