Donaldson, P.E. <br />Coastal Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Final Payment to Coastal Technology Corp. for the <br />Vero Beach Nearshore Hardbottom Mapping, Biological <br />Assessment and Beach Restoration Alternative <br />Assessments Report <br />REF. Donaldson to Jim Davis dated 10-21-93 <br />DATE: November 2, 1993 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />C2 : eneJ3M.A9N <br />Coastal Technology Corporation has concluded the final report of <br />the Vero Beach Nearshore Hardbottom Mapping, Biological Assessment <br />and Beach Restoration Alternative Assessment. Coastal Tech <br />completed delivery of the report and survey data on October 15, <br />1993 in accordance with the contract executed on June 15,1993 and <br />the time extension granted on Sept. 21, 1993. <br />This report,together with the engineering data that was collected, <br />has been transmitted to American Coastal Engineering for their use <br />in designing the off -shore submerged breakwater (PEP Reef). In <br />addition, this report will provide the basis for assessing the <br />biological and physical benefits that will result from installation <br />of the submerged breakwater. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff has reviewed the report and supplemental materials and <br />recommends that the Board authorize the final payment to Coastal <br />Technology in the amount of $16,810-810'.. Funding to be from 119- <br />145-572-033.13. <br />Commissioner Adams reported that the contract provides <br />for the consultant to present the results of the study to the <br />Board. The Beach and Shore Preservation Advisory Committee <br />has seen the presentation, <br />Board before she placed it <br />and she wanted to check with the <br />on the agenda for a BCC meeting. <br />50 <br />
