We have looked at perhaps <br />extending a road in Vero Lake Estates to "T" that intersection so <br />that CR -510 north/south traffic would have to stop. <br />Chairman Bird felt it should be in our short-term thinking to <br />try to do something to straighten out that curve, and Director <br />Davis advised that it would cost over $1 -million to do it because <br />we would have to build a bridge over the canal. However, that <br />may be a good candidate for a sales tax project. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. Thompson, P.E.C>of <br />Capital Projects Manager <br />SUBJECT: Indian River Boulevard Phase IV <br />Grace Locke Walker Parcel <br />RE: Letter from Ed Walker to Richard Bird <br />Dated October 25, 1993 <br />DATE: November 23, 1993 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Prior to construction of Indian River Boulevard, the County met with each <br />grove owner to determine what modifications were needed to keep the groves <br />operational. These modifications included removing trees, construction <br />of grove ditches, installation of drainage structures, irrigation <br />modifications and access modifications. <br />County staff met with Ed Walker prior to construction to determine what <br />modifications were needed on his mother's grove. The modifications that <br />were agreed on for the Grace Locke Walker Parcel included irrigation and <br />drainage modifications. On some of the groves adjacent to Indian River <br />Boulevard, tree removal adjacent to grove ditches was included in the <br />construction contract for the Boulevard.
