WISEMEN, P.E V <br />SAND STAFFED ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />1SUBJECT: FIRE HYDRANT RELOCATION - C.R. 512 <br />i WORK AUTHORIZATION NO. 17 <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BID NO. 4007 <br />On September 21, 1993, the Board of County Commissioners approved the <br />award of the labor contract bid to Driveways, Inc., Bid No. 4007 (see <br />attached minutes). The Department of Utility Services proposes to use <br />this labor contract to relocate three fire hydrants to the northern <br />portion of C.R. 512. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The project consists of relocating three fire hydrants. It involves <br />the extension of approximately 120 linear feet each of 6 -inch ductile <br />iron pipe water main, valves, fittings, etc. The fire hydrants are to <br />be relocated to the northern portion of C.R. 512 to avoid conflict with <br />the Department of Public Works twin pair. <br />The cost of the labor to construct the water main under the labor <br />contract is $3,330.68 (see attached Work Authorization No. 17 with <br />Driveways, Inc.). The pipe and fittings will be supplied by the County <br />at a cost of $5,111.32. Funding for this project will be from the fire <br />hydrant maintenance fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of -the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of. County: Commissioners execute- the attached agreement, which <br />approves Work Authorization No. 17 to construct the subject project <br />with Driveways, Inc., for the amount of $3,330.68, to extend an <br />estimated 360 linear feet of water main, and to authorize expenditure <br />of $5,111.32.for materials. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, seconded by <br />Commissioner Adams, to approve Work Authorization <br />No. 17 with Driveways, Inc., in the amount of <br />$3,330.68, to extend an estimated 360 linear feet of <br />water main, and authorized the expenditure of <br />,t $5,111.32 for materials, as recommended by staff. <br />ti <br />32 <br />
