The <br />break -down is as follows <br />PROJECT Estimated- Design Design <br />Right -of -Way and Fee Fee <br />Construction Cost Percentage <br />th Street Widening $1,200,000.00 $51,914.00 4.3% <br />LTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />lternatives are as follows: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the requested $51,914.00 design fee for Keith & Schnars Assoc <br />Alternative No. 2. <br />Re -negotiate the contract. <br />AND FUNDING <br />recommends approval of Alternative No. 1. Funding will be from <br />ict 6 Traffic Impact Fee Fund and Secondary Road Trust Fund. <br />Commissioner Macht questioned paragraph 14.B. of the agreement <br />here it states that the engineer will charge an additional fee to <br />attend up to 3 conferences with the County. He felt that those <br />meetings should be included in the basic contract. <br />Director Davis explained that meetings with staff and County <br />review meetings are included in the basic contract. Paragraph <br />4.B. refers to any extra meetings that might be held between the <br />engineer and the Board. <br />Commissioner Adams asked whether Keith & Schnars has an office <br />in Vero Beach, and Director Davis confirmed that they have a <br />satellite office in Vero Beach with full-time employees that will <br />remain in operation during this project. <br />Discussion ensued regarding travel reimbursement. <br />Commissioner Macht felt that travel reimbursement should not <br />be paid to an out-of-town company when there are companies in this <br />area capable of performing the same work. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />an agreement with Keith & Schnars Associates in the <br />amount of $51,941, as recommended by staff. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />31 <br />JAN 1994 BOO fr1uC tJ� <br />
