O , P. . <br />AND STAFFED ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES FOR WATER EXPANSION <br />PLAN - PHASE IV <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -93 -32 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />On September 28, 1993, the Board of County Commissioners approved the <br />continuing services agreement for design and construction inspection of <br />water and wastewater construction projects. It further authorized the <br />Department of Utility Services to negotiate with the consulting firms <br />to provide the required services. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The work authorization to provide the required consulting services for <br />Phase IV of the Water Expansion Plan (IRC Project No. UW -93 -32 -DS) is <br />attached. The H. F. Lenz Company was selected for this phase which <br />includes water service to approximately 1,068 homeowners on 1,545 lots <br />in Paradise Park (units 1 and 2), Oslo Park (units 2, 2A, and 2B), and <br />9th Court S.W. <br />The total consultant's fee is $190,000.00 for design services and shall <br />include surveying, preliminary reports, design, inspection, assessment <br />roll preparation, and preparation of record drawings (prints, mylars <br />and digital copies). <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval of <br />the attached work authorization so that we can proceed with the design <br />of the Phase IV project. <br />20 <br />
