FCC Sponsored CATV Rate Regulation Seminar <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated February 16, 1994: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />121� f Vi�r�cs G3 <br />FROM: Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney <br />DATE: February 16, 1994 <br />RE: FCC Sponsored CATV Rate Regulation Seminar <br />I request permission to attend one of the regional seminars presented by <br />the Federal Communications Commission relating to the new Cable TV rate <br />regulation law, pursuant to the attached invitation and information from <br />the Chairman of the FCC. There is no charge for the seminar since it is <br />presented by the government for government officials. <br />The FCC will be presenting its new rules and regulations which are just <br />being written to correct the problems of the original guidelines adopted <br />last year. The federal freeze on rate increases by cable operators has <br />been extended to May 15 to allow time for local governments to be <br />educated concerning the new rules. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously authorized <br />out-of-state travel for the County Attorney to <br />attend one of the Cable TV rate regulation law <br />regional seminars presented by the Federal <br />Communications Commission. <br />7 <br />FEB 22 1994 <br />BOOK 91 FAGS ?75 <br />a. <br />
