G. Occupational License Taxes Collected During Month of March <br />1994 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously accepted <br />the Report of Occupational License Taxes Collected <br />during the month of March 1994 from Tax Collector <br />Karl Zimmermann. <br />NWRAND@i <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Karl Zimmermann, Tag Collector <br />SUBJECT: Occupational Licenses <br />DATE: April 8,-1994 <br />Pursuant to Indian River County Ordinance No. 86-59, please be informed <br />that $6,145.06 was collected in occupational license taxes during <br />the month of March, representing the issuance of 290 licenses. <br />PUBLIC DISCUSSION - REQUEST OF BILLY WORKMAN TO DISCUSS RESOLUTIONS <br />89-4 AND 92-197 IMPOSING LIENS ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO HIS MOTHER <br />INEZ WORKMAN <br />Billy C. Workman introduced' himself and stated that he has <br />been in the United States Armed Forces for the past 20 years. <br />During most of that time he was stationed overseas, and he was not <br />aware of the liens that were placed on his mother's home in <br />connection with the County's removal of trash from her property. <br />His 2 sisters who live in this area did not tell him about this <br />problem. He explained that his mother had no source of income <br />until she recently became eligible for Social Security, and she <br />collected recyclable materials with the hope of deriving some <br />income from their sale. Much of the trash was deposited on her <br />property by other people in the community. Mr. Workman asked <br />whether the Board could reduce the amount of the liens, and do <br />something to prevent this from happening in the future. He stated <br />that the $23,000 lien exceeds the estimated value of the property. <br />He asked whether there was any salvage value to the recyclable <br />Boa 92 mF 217 <br />
