RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve this proposed assessment project <br />and authorize engineering design servioes by the Department of Utility <br />Services staff. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />the proposed assessment project and authorized staff <br />to proceed with engineering design services, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />ROSELAND WATER MAIN. UW -94 -06 -DS <br />In fiscal year 1993, the Department of Utility Services <br />successfully constructed a water transmission main along Roseland <br />Road, Phases I, II and III. Phase III is the construction of the <br />Roseland elevated water storage tank, which is in the final stage <br />of construction. The elevated water storage tank has been cleared <br />by F.D.E.P. to provide service. The constructed water main in <br />Phases I and II provide water to the intersection of Roseland Road <br />and U.S. Highway 1, which serves'Roseland Plaza and the Riverwalk <br />Shopping Centers. Recently, the Department received requests from <br />business establishments along U.S. Highway 1, North of Roseland <br />Road (See attached map) for water service. These requests <br />necessitate the construction of a water main extension to provide <br />to these establishments. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The proposed water main extension will be approximately 4,800 <br />linear feet and use a 16 inch PVC water main. The estimated cost <br />of this project, including survey, design, permitting, bidding, <br />inspection and construction administration is $211,690. The master <br />plan indicates that a 16 inch water main is required to serve the <br />37 <br />APR 19 1994 BooK 92 F.+r 9'.047 <br />
