Proclamation Designating April 24 Through May 1 1994 as Soil <br />and Water Stewardship Week in Indian River County <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously adopted the <br />following proclamation: <br />PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING APRIL 24 THROUGH MAY 1, 1994 <br />AS SOIL AND WATER STEWARDSHIP WEEK <br />IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, our well-being depends on the production of ample <br />food, fiber and other products of the soil; and <br />WHEREAS,* the quality and quantity of these products depend <br />on the conservation, wise use and proper management of soil and <br />water resources; and <br />WHEREAS,.. protection of our water from pollution depends on <br />sound conservation practices; and <br />WHEREAS, conservation districts provide a practical and <br />democratic- -organization through which landowners take the. <br />initiative to conserve and make proper use of these resources; <br />and . <br />WHEREAS, the conservation movement is- carrying forward a - <br />program of soil and water conservation in partnership with many <br />private and public organizations and individuals: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />C05MSSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER' COUNTY, FLORIDA that April 24 <br />through May. 1, 1994 be designated as <br />SOIL AND WATER STEWARDSHIP WEEK <br />in Indian River County, and the Board :wishes to express <br />appreciation of the value of our soil and c:atEr to the public <br />welfare, and desires to honor those who protect our resources. <br />Adopted this 19 day of April, 1994. <br />4 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY CONN[ISSION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />John W.
