Approval of this recommendation will provide the Animal Control <br />Authority- with -another officer with regulatory powers to assist in <br />enforcing the Indian River County Code relating to animal control. <br />Given the fact that Debbie House - has not returned to work since <br />being reinstated on March 31, 1994, and no time frame has been set <br />for her to return to work due to surgery, it would be of benefit to <br />the Animal Control Division for the Board to approve the staff <br />recommendation and authorize this employee to issue citations for <br />whatever period of time he remains in the position. <br />RBCONNZZDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board approve the attached resolution and <br />authorization for Animal Control Officer Jeffrey West -to issue <br />citations for violations of the Indian River County Code. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 94-81 authorizing Animal Control Officer <br />Jeffrey West to issue citations. <br />6/ 2/94 (reso \animal . doc) VkDW <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94- 81 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER <br />JEFFREY WEST TO ISSUE CITATIONS. <br />WHEREAS, Section 828.27, Florida Statutes, allows County Animal <br />Control Officers under certain conditions to issue citations related to animal <br />control ordinances if the officer successfully completes a 40 -hour minimum <br />standards training- course; and <br />WHEREAS, Animal Control Officer Jeffrey West has completed such a <br />course at the St. Petersburg Junior College on May 27, 1994, and is <br />therefore qualified under Section 828.27, F.S.; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Animal Control <br />Officer Jeffrey 'West is hereby authorized to issue animal control citations, <br />pursuant to Section 828.27, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 302 of the Indian <br />River County Code. <br />33 <br />JUN 14 1994 BOOK %.
