W r � <br />In October of 1993, a change order to this contract was approved by the <br />Board of County Commissioners for an increase in' the amount of <br />$13,779.43 for a revised contract amount of $500,779.43. (See attached <br />-agenda item and change order.) We are now requesting the Board of <br />County Commissioners' approval of the- contractorls final pay -request <br />and change order. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The final change order is for a reduction of $28,799.37, this equates <br />to a final contract amount of $471,980.06, or a reduction of 5.7%. The <br />reduction is primarily due to quantity changes within the contract. Due <br />to construction conditions, i.e., reduction in sod restoration, <br />reduction in fittings and pipe length (due to the straight lay of <br />pipe), and a reduction in air release valves (due to the flat pipe <br />laying conditions). (See attached final change order and pay request). <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval of <br />the final change order and pay request in the amount of $81,805.53 as <br />presented. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />Speegle Construction's Change Order #2 and final <br />payment request in the amount of $81,805.53, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />CHANGE ORDER #2 IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />REMOVAL OF RIVERS EDGE & VERO HIGHLANDS GROUND STORAGE WATER TANKS <br />AND RIVERS EDGE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated June 10, 1994: <br />DATE: JUNE 10, 1994 <br />TO: JAMES E.
