600K 92 PAGE 84 <br />Excerpts from Comprehensive Land Use Plan <br />Future Land Use Element <br />Incompatible Uses and Blighted Areas <br />Incompatible uses include those which are out of character or <br />scale with surrounding areas as well 'as those which negatively <br />impact surrounding areas with noise, smoke, glare, traffic, etc. <br />Several uses are by their nature incompatible with residential <br />areas; these—include airports, landfills and many industrial and <br />commercial operations. These uses have the potential to lower <br />property values and reduce the development potential of <br />surrounding property. These problems can be reduced through <br />effective land use patterns that provide for separation and <br />incorporate the use of buffers.
