The letters in opposition list the following reasons for <br />opposition: traffic concerns <br />aesthetic character of neighborhood <br />lowering of property values <br />noise and bright lighting <br />night deliveries and late hours <br />need for additional police protection <br />violation of County Code regarding compatibility <br />with the built and natural environment <br />litter <br />air pollution <br />no need for supermarket <br />river pollution <br />varmints <br />supermarket not same as convenience retail store. <br />We have also received 4 letters and 1 phone call in favor of the <br />Publix store listing the following reasons for support: <br />property rights of land owner <br />will add to residents property values <br />decrease of traffic on US#1 <br />lack of grocery store on barrier island <br />fulfills a need. <br />The correspondence is available for review at the appeal hearing, <br />as well as petitions and correspondence presented at the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission meeting on May 12, 1994. <br />Chairman Tippin acknowledged the submission of the above <br />documents listed by Attorney Dill. <br />NOTE FROM BARBARA BONNAH, DEPUTY CLERK, CLERK TO THE BOARD: <br />All of the above listed items plus any and all exhibits presented <br />during this meeting that haven't been inserted into these Minutes <br />will be placed on file in the Office of the Board of County <br />Commissioners for 3 years.
