Director Davis advised that one requirement of the grant <br />package is' proof that the projects were discussed at a regularly <br />scheduled meeting of the applicant's advisory board.. The Parks & <br />Recreation Committee is the advisory board and that Committee held <br />hearings and received public input. We will request $50,000 to <br />build a new Little League baseball field, a large picnic pavilion <br />structure, and some other improvements for Gifford Park. We will <br />request $50,000 to improve the baseball field at West Wabasso Park <br />to bring that field up to Little League standards and to light the <br />existing field, as well as to resurface the basketball court. An <br />application will be submitted by the City of Fellsmere requesting <br />$40,000 for a basketball court. The City of Fellsmere has not <br />received grants in the last few years, and the State likes to <br />spread the money around. Staff will attach the minutes of the <br />Parks & Recreation meetings to the applications and submit them <br />before August 31. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously <br />authorized staff to submit the applications to <br />the State under the Florida Recreation <br />Development Assistance Program as outlined by <br />staff. <br />SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />Chairman Tippin announced that immediately upon adjournment <br />the Board would reconvene sitting as the Commissioners of the Solid <br />Waste Disposal District. <br />Those Minutes are being prepared separately. <br />"I, ^There being no further business, on Motion duly , made seconded <br />' GLAI p ied, the Board adjourned at 9:50 a.m. <br />r �° <br />Clerk Jo W.
