Staff will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the removal is <br />complete. Additional rafts will probably come ashore and we will <br />continue to press the state and DOT for removal assistance. To date, <br />Indian River County has not incurred any expense in removal of the <br />rafts -from the county beaches. <br />Any significant changes in DOT plans will be transmitted to the Board <br />for action as deemed appropriate. <br />I.R.C. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTO <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICE <br />SUBJECT: INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COURTHOUSE PROJECT <br />CHANGE ORDER NUMBER 12 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The -contract. with: Jam es- A:. •Cummings �. ; Inc., for the subj ectt project <br />calls for the owner;'' Indian` River County, to P4rciiase certain' <br />equipment and material directly from the vendor in order to save <br />paying sales tax on these items. <br />The contractor added cost of equipment, materials and applicable <br />taxes into his price when bid. The procedure calls for a total <br />deduction of cost and taxes from the contract and all payments <br />from items being made by the County. The taxes are not paid. <br />The total deduction in this Change Order amounts to $127,060.95 <br />with a tax savings of $7,308.63 to the County.
