X X: <br />SECTION 0125 00 <br />PRODUCT SUBSTITUTIONS <br />PART I GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. This Section specifies administrative and procedural requirements for handling, requests <br />for substitutions prior to the Owner's receipt of bids. <br />1.02 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br />A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br />Conditions and Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />1.03 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Definitions used in this Article are not intended to change or modify the meaning of other <br />terms* used in the'Contract Documents. <br />B. Substitutions: Requests for changes in products, materials, and equipment, of <br />construction required by Contract Documents proposed by the Contractor are considered <br />requests for "substitutions". The following are not considered substitutions: <br />1. Substitutions that are requested by Bidders beyond the 14 days prior to bid <br />opening submittal period. <br />-2. Revisions to Contract Documents requested by the Owner or Engineer. <br />3. Specified options of products and construction methods included in Contract <br />Documents. <br />4. The Contractor's determination- of and compliance with governing regulations <br />and orders issued by governing authorities. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS — PRIOR TO BED <br />A. Substitution Request Submittal: Written requests for substitution from prime bidders will <br />be considered if received by the Engineer fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the bid <br />opening. <br />1. Submit each request for substitution to purchasing@iregov.com on the form <br />contained in Section 00 63 25 -Substitution Request Form for consideration in <br />accordance with procedures required below. <br />2. Identify the product or the fabrication or installation method to be replaced in <br />each request. Include related specification sections and drawing number. <br />3. Provide complete documentation on both the product specified and the proposed <br />substitution including the following information as appropriate. <br />a. Comparison of specified and proposed substitute product data, <br />fabrication drawings, and installation procedures. <br />b. Samples where applicable or requested. <br />C.
