The following safety equipment must be in the <br />vehicle at all times, maintained, and in good working order: <br />Q <br />Fire extinguisher <br />■ <br />First Aid Kit <br />■ <br />Company emergency number visor card <br />■ <br />Spare tire and jack <br />■ <br />Safety reflectors <br />Basic safety <br />rules to follow: <br />= <br />Due to Florida state law, headlights must be on whenever it is raining. <br />■ <br />Whenever possible, vehicles must be backed into parking spaces. This eliminates the hazard of <br />backing into traffic when leaving the parking space. <br />= <br />Before going to a remote area, make sure the fuel tank is full. <br />= <br />Do not operate any other equipment while driving, e.g, laptop or mobile phone. (Refer to <br />company cellphone/electronic device policy). <br />= <br />Ensure all equipment is properly secured before driving. <br />= <br />Lock the Company Vehicle when parked, even when the employee operator is nearby orthe <br />duration away from the Company Vehicle is short. <br />= <br />Make sure the windows and mirrors are clear before driving. <br />= <br />Per the Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Checklist, employees must perform daily vehicle <br />inspections. This form must be turned in to their Superintendent on a weekly basis. <br />Superintendents must send them to the Fleet Manager weekly. <br />It is the driver's responsibility to ensure the vehicle has a current registration and state <br />•t <br />insurance card prior to operating. <br />34 <br />
