mr 3 <br />The original Agreement dated June 6, 1989 included a corridor <br />study for Kings Highway. This corridor study was completed in <br />January 1993. Gee & Jenson is requesting release of retainage <br />and final payment in the amount of $7,640.40 for the Kings <br />Highway Corridor Study. <br />Gee & Jenson is also requesting a partial release of retainage in <br />the amount of $6,097.70 for CR 510 and SR AlA Intersection <br />Improvements. The only tasks remaining to be completed are those <br />contained in Amendment No. 4. <br />Staff recommends that the following actions be taken: <br />1• Approve Amendment No. 4 in the amount of $11,400. <br />2. Approve release of retainage and final payment for the <br />58th Avenue Corridor Study in the amount of $7,640.40. <br />3. Approve partial release of retainage for the CR 510 and <br />SR-AlA Intersection Improvements in the amount of <br />$6,097.70. <br />Funding for the 58th Avenue Corridor Study is from Account 101- <br />158-541-067.3a. <br />Funding for CR 510 and SR AIA Intersection Improvements is from <br />Account 101-151-541-067.11. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bird, to approve <br />Amendment No. 4 in the amount of $11,400; <br />release of retainage and final payment for the <br />58th Avenue Corridor Study in the amount of <br />$7,640.40; and partial release of retainage <br />for the CR -510 and SR-AlA Intersection <br />Improvements in the amount of $6,097.70. <br />Commissioner Adams asked why the changes were required, and <br />Public Works Director Davis explained that quite a few things had <br />occurred after 1989 when the contract was initiated with Gee & <br />Jensen. First of all, there were some changes in the St. Johns <br />River Water Management District Rules which the engineer was not <br />cognizant of in 1989, and then the Disney project came on line and <br />the.design had to be modified to connect to the Disney project. <br />Commissioner Macht questioned the $5,500 cost for <br />signalization because it seemed an excessive amount to do something <br />30 <br />October 11, 1994 <br />
