Provide a detailed description of, and quantitative evidence demonstrating, how the <br />proposed public infrastructure project will promote: <br />❑ Economic recovery in specific regions of the state; <br />❑ Economic diversification; or <br />❑ Economic enhancement of a Targeted Industry (View Florida's Targeted <br />Industries here.) <br />o As part of this response, describe how the project will promote specific job <br />growth. Include a description of the number of jobs that will be retained or <br />created, the average wages of such jobs, and in which industry(ies) the jobs <br />will be created using the North American Industry Classification System <br />NAICS codes. Where applicable, you may list specific businesses that will <br />retain or grow jobs or make capital investment. <br />o Further, include the economic impact on the community, region, or state and <br />the associated metrics used to measure the success of the proposed project. <br />The Technical Center for Career and Adult Education is a public, non-profit, <br />post -secondary institution. The school promotes economic diversity by serving <br />students of all ages, race, and economic class. The School District works closely <br />with CareerSource Research Coast, the Indian River County Chamber of <br />Commerce, and local businesses/employers to ensure that is is offering rigorous <br />and relevant workforce training programs that meet the needs of the region. The <br />School District has created a Career and Technical Education Steering <br />Committee which has consistently voiced a need for additional training programs <br />in the county. <br />This project will help to promote job growth in the Manufacturing and <br />Construction sectors as welders are currently in demand in both areas. <br />According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Construction of <br />Buildings is ranked #2 for fastest growing industry between 2016-2024, with <br />several construction occupations gaining the most new jobs. This solidifies the <br />need for expanded workforce training opportunities in this field. The applicable <br />NAICS codes are 23 for both sectors and 33 for the welding sector. Each <br />occupational field encompasses several sub -sectors, and industries. <br />6-31 <br />4 <br />
