I <br />KOr PAUL 548 <br />RESOLUTION TO GOVERNOR AND CABINET REQUESTING <br />DECLARATION OF SHORELINE EMERGENCY <br />The Board reviewed a Resolution presented by Commissioner <br />Adams, and: <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 94-132 requesting declaration of a <br />shoreline emergency to authorize expedited <br />permitting for the placement of sand on the beach. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94- 132 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, TO THE GOVERNOR, CABINET, AND <br />THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPART- <br />MENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OF <br />THE STATE OF FLORIDA REQUESTING DECLAR- <br />ATION OF A SHORELINE EMERGENCY TO <br />AUTHORIZE EXPEDITED PERMITTING FOR THE <br />PLACEMENT OF SAND ON THE BEACH. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County's beaches are experiencing severe <br />erosion from the October 15th storm, aS witnessed by the accompanying <br />video taken on October 17, 1994, at 7:00 a.m.; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Rule 16B-41, Florida Administrative Code, <br />adopted pursuant to the authority of Chapter 161, Florida Statutes, on the <br />declaration of a shoreline emergency by the Governor, Cabinet, and <br />Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) certain permitting procedures <br />automatically go into effect which will enable the DEP to issue field permits <br />for the placement of sand on the beach to protect the upland structures; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Governor, <br />Cabinet, and DEP are requested to make a declaration of a shoreline <br />emergency so that field permits may be issued pursuant to law. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner <br />and the motion was seconded by Commissioner R i r ri , and, upon <br />being put to a vote, the,. vote- was as follows: <br />OCTOBER 18, 1994 38 <br />
