RESOLUTION N0. 94-131 <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida has adopted the Florida Sexual <br />Predators Act requiring sexual predators who are released early <br />from Florida prisons, to register with the Florida Department of <br />Law Enforcement; and <br />WHEREAS, this registration requirement is currently limited <br />to offenses committed on or after October 1, 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Parole Commission and the Florida <br />Department of Corrections have the authority to require <br />registration of sexual predators as a condition of early release <br />even for offenses committed prior to October 1, 1993: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County that the Florida Parole <br />Commission and the Florida Department of Corrections are <br />requested not to consider for early release, any sexual predator, <br />but that they serve their full term in prison. <br />The Board further resolves that, if a sexual predator <br />becomes eligible for parole, the Florida Parole Commission and <br />the Florida Department of Corrections require all such sexual <br />predators (as defined in Chapter 93-277 of the Florida Statutes,) <br />to register with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as a <br />condition of early release and that such registrations be <br />forwarded to each Chief: of Police and Sheriff where such <br />registrant resides within 24 hours. <br />This resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner <br />Macht , seconded by Commissioner Eggert and was adopted <br />by the following vote: <br />Chairman John W. Tippin Aye <br />Vice Chairman Kenneth R. Macht Aye <br />Commissioner Fran B. Adams Aye <br />Commissioner Carolyn K. Eggert Aye <br />Commissioner Richard N.
