PINTA' l/� wo- <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILITY ISERVICES <br />PREPARED TERRY Be DRUM: <br />AND STAFFED ENVIROAL SPECIALIST <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: REMOVAL OF THE OLD GENERAL DEVELOPMENT/VERO <br />HIGHLANDS (TWO OFFICE BUILDINGS, ONE (1) <br />EQUIPMENT BUILDING, FOUNDATION CONCRETE <br />WALKWAYS, ALL EXISTING CONCRETE STRUCTURES AND <br />ASPHALT DRIVE <br />FINAL PAY REQUEST <br />BACKGROUND <br />On June 29, 1994, area demolition contractors were contacted for <br />quotes for the removal of the above -referenced facilities. On <br />September 6, 1994, the Indian River County °Board of County <br />Commissioners awarded the above -referenced contract to Jim Wright <br />Construction, in the amount of $24,400.00. The contractor has <br />submitted his request for final payment. (See attached agenda item <br />and minutes). <br />ANALYSIS <br />All requirements for the Indian River County Department of Utility <br />Services have been satisfied. The contractor was previously paid <br />$21,960.00, leaving a balance of $20440.00 as the final payment. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the final pay request to Jim <br />-Wright Construction, Inc., in the amount of $2,440.00. <br />Commissioner Bird asked about the future use of the site, and <br />Director Pinto responded that we have no use for it and it will be <br />declared surplus. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously <br />approved the final pay request to Jim Wright <br />Construction, Inc., in the amount of $2,440, <br />as recommended by staff. <br />FINAL PAY REQU$ST <br />IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />W <br />October 25, 1994 <br />BOOK PArA <br />
