• Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes-Final July 3,2018 <br /> Approved staffs recommendation <br /> 8.G. 18-1982 Award of Bid No. 2018061,Annual Bid for Artificial Reef <br /> Recommended Action: Staffrecommends that the Board award the annual bid for artificial reef <br /> construction to McCulley Marine Services, Inc., authorize the Purchasing Division <br /> to issue blanket purchase orders for the work, and authorize the Purchasing <br /> Manager to renew the bid for four(4) additional one(1)year periods Subject to <br /> satisfactory performance,vendor acceptance, and the determination that renewal of <br /> this annual bid is in the best interest of Indian River County <br /> Attachments: Staff Report <br /> Bid Tabulation Sheet <br /> Orchid Island Artificial Reef Location Map <br /> At the request of Commissioner Adams,Natural Resources Manager James Gray <br /> provided background on the County's Artificial Reef Program. He informed Board <br /> Members that 10 artificial reefs have been constructed and 60 additional reefs are . . <br /> projected to be built over the next 10 or more years. He discussed the Strike Zone <br /> Reef which was constructed in 2017, and Alan's Reef,which is proposed to be built <br /> in 2018. After speaking on the positive impacts of the.reefs, Mr. Gray responded <br /> to the Board's questions about publicizing the program,the bid award, and the <br /> capture of Construction&Debris tonnage for recycling numbers. <br /> . Reverend Bujolcommended the County and staff on the Artificial Reef Program. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Adams,seconded by Commissioner Flescher, <br /> to approve staff's recommendation.
