All contractors shall cooperate in the execution of their work and shall plan their work in <br /> such manners as to avoid conflicting schedules or delay of work. If any part of a Contrac- <br /> tor's work depends upon the work of another Contractor, defects, which may affect that <br /> work, shall be reported to the Engineer in order that prompt inspection may be made and <br /> defects corrected. Commencement of work by a Contractor where such condition exists <br /> will constitute acceptance of the other Contractor's work as being satisfactory in all respects <br /> to receive the work commenced, except defects, which may later develop. Work of all <br /> trades under this contract shall be closely coordinated in such a manner as to obtain the <br /> best possible workmanship for the entire project. All components of the work shall be <br /> installed in accordance with the best practices of the particular trade. The General Con- <br /> tractor is responsible to advise the Owner sufficiently in advance of operations to allow for. <br /> assignment of personnel. <br /> C. Materials or methods described by words which, when applied, have a well known tech- <br /> nical or trade meaning will be held to refer to such recognized standard. Standard specifi- <br /> cations or manufacturer's literature,when referenced,shall be of the latest revision or print- <br /> ing unless otherwise stated, and are intended to establish the minimum requirements ac- <br /> ceptable. <br /> D. All materials shall be new, all materials and workmanship shall be in every respect in ac- <br /> cordance with the best modern practice. <br /> E. When special makes or grades of material which are normally packaged by the supplier or <br /> manufacturer are specified or accepted,such materials shall be delivered to the site in orig- <br /> inal packages or containers with seals unbroken and labels intact and shall not be opened <br /> until inspected and approved by the Engineer. Contractor shall notify the Engineer prior <br /> to such material's delivery. <br /> F. The Contractor's Foreman or Superintendent to maintain one complete set of the contract <br /> documents and approved submittals on the job site. <br /> G. Contractor shall be responsible to correct deficiencies identified by Engineer and non-con- <br /> forming work within 24 hours of receipt of notification, either verbally or written, and <br /> submit a plan of action for addressing the deficiencies and non-conforming work. Further <br /> tear-off or commencement of other work shall not occur until all deficiencies and non- <br /> conforming work are properly addressed. <br /> H. Installer Qualifications: A firm or individual experienced in installing,erecting,or assem- <br /> bling work similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for this Project, whose <br /> work has resulted in construction with a record of successful in-service performance. <br /> 1. Acceptable Contractor: <br /> a. Be certified in writing for a minimum of two years by the roofing materials <br /> manufacturer to install the primary roofing products. <br /> b. Have a minimum of five (5) years experience in installing the same or <br /> similar materials specified under the same firm name as that submitting <br /> the bid. If requested,submit a copy of firm's Articles of Incorporation to <br /> verify years in business. Also all crew workers on site are to be experi- <br /> enced and have a working knowledge of the system being installed. <br /> c.
